Municipal Court
Welcome to Dillon Municipal Court located in the City/County Complex Building 401 West Main Street.
Office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Office will be closed on holidays observed by the City of Dillon. Office personal is here to assist you with any questions pertaining to traffic tickets, court hearing, jury duty and arrest warrants.
Dillon Municipal Court consist of three employees. Our municipal judges are the Honorable Mackie Hayes and Honorable Alan L. Berry, Jr. The Courts Clerk is Angela C. Freitas.
Dillon Municipal Court schedules and adjudicates criminal, traffic and city ordinance Violations that occur within the City Limits of Dillon. As a Municipal Court of limited jurisdiction, the Court hears misdemeanor criminal cases and cases that are subject to a fine up to $500.00 (not including mandatory assessments and fees) and/or that are not subject to a sentence not exceeding imprisonment of 30 days.
The Municipal Judges conduct bond hearing 7 days a week, twice a day at 8:00am and 1:00pm. All Bond Hearing are held a The Dillon County Detention Center, 1027 Old Latta Highway. Dillon Municipal Court holds its regular Court Session every Wednesday beginning promptly at 9:00am. All cell phones are to be turned off before entering the court room. Jury Trial and Preliminary Hearings are held throughout the year as schedule.
If you choose not to appear in court and wish to pay your fine (known as forfeiture) before your court date you may do so in person Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. If you elect to mail payment you must make Cashier Check or Money Order payable to Dillon Municipal Court for the correct amount posted on the ticket, copy of your ticket or ticket #. Mail to Dillon Municipal Court 401 West Main Street/Post Office Box 431 Dillon, South Carolina 29536. We Do Not accept Personal Checks. Please Do Not make Cashier’s Check or Money Orders for more than the amount on your ticket. Overpayments and Personal Checks will be returned to you. You may also pay your fine online using the link below.
Late Payments
If your payments are made 15 days after your court date. Please contact the Court for your Notice of Compliance. It is your responsibility to provide South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicle with a Notice of Compliance Withdraw of suspension mailed in by the Court, to clear your Driver’s License of Suspension. Out of State Drivers, and question you may have concerning reinstatement fees or driver’s license suspension must be directed to your home state.
